News Anchors in Maine Quit on Live TV

A TV news anchor team in Bangor, Maine, who quit their jobs in front of all the live viewers at the end of Tuesday evening's newscast. In what was inspired by a conflict with their management, co-anchors Cindy Michaels and Tony Consiglio announced to viewers that it would be their last show, the Bangor Daily News reported. "Some recent developments have come to our attention ... and departing together is the best alternative we can take," Consiglio said. "We wanted to be able to say a thoughtful, heartfelt good-bye to our viewers and to the many communities we served over the years," Michaels told NBC News in an email Wednesday. "We scripted something to keep from getting off-course and emotional." Michaels, 46, and Consiglio, 28, didn't tell anyone of their decision before the newscast, according to the Bangor Daily News. The newspaper reported the journalists were frustrated over the last four years with the way they were told to do their jobs. In her signoff, Michaels claimed the two were "the longest running news team in Bangor," with six years at the desk.

This video just popped on my local news, a girl sticks her head out of a train window while a buddy films, and nearly gets her head ripped off by a train going in the other direction. A LNG tanker in China exploded outside of a tunnel on one of China's highways. The explosion which occurred on the hunan-chang-ji highway killed a handful of people, and numerous motorists caught in the traffic jam, left their cars and started running away before the explosion.

Samsung Parodies the Iphone in a commercial

Given that every single major city this week did stories about people lined up at Apple Stores waiting to shell out hundreds of dollars on the new iphone, I found this Samsung Parody commercial quite funny. The clip features dozens of people lining up outside of an apple store saying such things as: "The headphone jack is going to be on the bottom" "I heard the connector is going to be all digital... What does that even mean?" "All I'm saying is they should have a priority line for people that waited 5 times" And then a few Samsung cell phone owners walk by flaunting their phones that have had many of the iphone features for months---And you don't have to wait in line. (However, I think Apple's patent attorneys are trying to get an injunction to halt Samsung smart phone sales in the U.S.)

Jimmy Kimmel punked people on the street by showing them an iphone 4s, telling them it was an iphone 5 and asking them if they thought it was different... Just about everyone thought it was better (slimmer,lighter, faster) than the old iphone (4s)... Except for a homeless looking guy who thought it was heavier... Overall it was a pretty funny prank on streets of Hollywood.

So a South Korean singer films a silly video & dance called Gangnam style. And in time it gets over 200 million views on youtube and Ellen is teaching Britney Spears and Simon Cowell how to do the Gangnam style dance. This is one of the things like the macerena where it's so stupid, it's funny.

After a run-in with the local police a Vermont farmer got even. He got in his tractor and crushed the town's 9 police cars. They eventually arrested him, for destruction of property and leaving the scene of an accident.

While a Chinese reporter was on site covering a story about a nasty sinkhole that opened up in the sidewalk after the recent rain storms, another larger sink hole instantly appeared and almost swallowed her up. She managed to yell in surprise and run out of the way.

As Mercedes looks to create buzz around their new fuel cell vehicle, they did something incredibly dynamic. They layered the car with LED pixels on one side and cameras on the other side. The image that is shot from the cameras is displayed on the LED's, making the entire Mercedes look invisible. Truly amazing. I'm waiting for this commercial to go viral and get picked up by local morning news teams.

BLR (Bad Lip Reading) has put together a bunch of funny videos of bad lip sync voice overs of famous politicians who are running for president. There has been plenty of fodder on the republican side of the ballot with their recent Newt Gingrich lip-dub released just in time for Super Tuesday---It's full of plenty of laughs--and starts out as if Newt's speaking Chinese. This video came a few weeks after BLR's Mitt Romney Lip Sync video, which was pretty funny as well.

Today during a press conference, President Obama was asked what he thought about Chicago's security efforts after he decided to move this year's G8 summit from the windy city to Camp David. Barrack said, that Chicago has a history of hosting large important events all the time including the taste of chicago, "LaPoluza", and Bulls Championship parades. I'm guessing he never attended the Lollapalooza concert in Grant Park, otherwise he wouldn't have mispronounced it.

Celtics Start the game with a long snap.

During a recent Boston Celtics versus L.A. Lakers basketball game in Boston the Celtics started the game in very a strange way. After winning the tip-off, they long snap it backwards to the guard hanging out on the free throw line, he then hikes it behind himself and starts dribbling the ball upcourt to start the game. It really was a funny way to start the game and should have made ESPN's funny highlight reel for the week.

White Dog Bites a Reporter in the face

A large white mastiff or pit-bull snaps at a news reporter who was petting the dog on set. It does appear that she managed to quickly jump out of the way and avoid getting bit on the face.

Stephen Colbert Super PAC commercial to vote for Herman Cain

Since Stephen Colbert can't get his name on the ballot, the SUPER PAC run by John Stewart is airing a commercial that is airing in South Carolina urging voters to vote for Herman Cain (Who has quit running) if they really want to vote for Stephen Colbert (who couldn't get his name on the ballot). I think it will be interesting to see if Herman Cain starts polling in 3rd or 4th place for the republican primary.

Colbert Super PAC ad attacks Mitt Romney

Stephen Colbert's Super PAC (A better tomorrow for America tomorrow), which is now run by Jon Stewart, has started airing advertisements in South Carolina. The PACs first ad attacks Mitt Romney and calls him "Mitt the ripper"... If you believe that corporations are people, and Mitt' experience at Bain Capital caused him to carve up companies (people) then vote for "Not Romney" in the coming election. I think it's funny, but the parody may be lost on most people.

Spud Webb, the shortest player to ever win the NBA's slam dunk content, shows off his talent in this highlight reel.  The guy had to be only 5'7" and he managed to throw down some pretty impressive dunks.  This isn't really a funny video or a blooper video---Just a pretty amazing sports performance from the 1980s.

And now line backer Clay Matthews has own commercial. It's good to see the insurance company getting this much play on the topic... Now I just want to see them work in the Lambeau leap into the next commercial.

Soccer Blooper - Goalie Enaut Zubikarai isn't paying attention and gives up a goal

Gonzalo Castro of Mallorca gets a sneaky goal against Real Sociedad's goalkeeper Enaut Zubikari who didn't realize that the opponent was still behind him. The Goalie casually tosses out the ball thinking the pitch was clear and Castro does an end around and scores during a Copa del Rey match. Terrific Goalie FAIL. Mallorca ended up winning the game.

Jimmy Kimmel Gives Kids Terrible Gifts

As part of his TV Show, Jimmy Kimmel challenged his viewers to video tape their kids receiving terrible gifts and post them to youtube. The late show's producers then compiled the best of the best. Little kids get really upset when they open up wrapped presents and see: broccoli, soup, water, and pickles... The funny thing is a couple of kids were really happy with their gifts---(1) a potato and (2) deodorant. Some of the kids who got the most upset was a boy who was given a barbie and a little Chicago Bears fan who got a Packers jersey.

During the recent Green Bay Packer - Detroit Lions football game at Lambeau Field when a 15 year old ran onto the field and started making a fool of himself. Since the field security team was slow to respond, Brad Jones (#59) takes things into his own hands and tackles the kid. Thereafter, the police wrestle the kid off of the field. Oh... And the Packers won the game.

Japanese Reporter Has a Funny Scream down a slide

Although I don't speak Japanese, you don't need to if you want to get a kick out of this video. The woman reporter opens a door to a stair case that also has a slide... She decides to plunge down the slide and lets out a really strange scream on her way down.

Finally he had to sprint to the news van and lock himself in... (I find it funny the the camel didn't attack the camera man.

Local news reporter Ashton Altieri gets tongue tied and says, "Congrats Erin on your bigger Hooters,... er... Hoosiers"... The curse of live TV means this blooper was instantly placed on youtube and the anchor started blushing while her co-hosts were laughing at her expense.

The WGN morning show recently put on a funny spoof that pokes fun at the Eddie and Jobo car insurance commercials. For people in the metro-Chicago area, I'd think that this would make a funny and obscure Halloween costume.

UCLA Basketball Kiss-Cam Marriage Proposal Rejection

At a recent UCLA basketball game, there was a marriage proposal gone bad. As you frequently have at sporting events there's a "Kiss-Cam" and after a few couples exchange smooches, the camera/jumbo-tron turns its gaze on a young couple (and there happens to be a reporter with a microphone there as well). Anyhow, the guy pops the question; catching the girl off-guard and the young brunette-coed just couldn't say yes and instead she runs away leaving the guy.

The Morning Show's host is not pregnant--It's just a bad dress.

The morning host for Australia's "The Morning Show" (TMS) is never going to wear that dress again... She blames the pleat in the dress for making her look pregnant---apparently it fooled enough viewers who sent in plenty of texts and emails congratulating her. But there's no bun in the oven.

KTLA's Weatherman Henry DiCarlo Throws a Fit on Air

KTLA weatherman Henry DiCarlo was doing a live segment from the L.A. Metro---It appears that he got upset at his producers for trying to incorporate an interview in the same segment. So Henry got mad and walked off the live interview. The Anchor man quipped if he'd like some cheese with that whine and tried to laugh it off.

Mitt Romney Lib Dub Video

A group called "Bad Lip Reading" (BLR) has put out a funny video of Republican Mitt Romney in which they do voice-over lib-dubs on the politician's commercials and public appearances. It's pretty humorous to see what these comedians think that a lip-reader would have presidential candidate say.

BLR also did a gut-busting video on a Michelle Bachmann lip-dub.

Is facebook owned by the CIA?

The Onion News Network (ONN)does a funny report on how the CIA owns facebook. And thanks to this investment (which is run by CIA agent Mark Zuckerberg), the CIA is able to get people to voluntarily provide the firm with intelligence. People post their beliefs, their pictures, and even status updates... It ends up being a cost save for the agency.

Kathy Griffin surprised Anderson Cooper during CNN's New Years Eve broadcast by taking off her shirt. The comedian jokingly said she was trying to keep up with Lady Gaga by just wearing her black bra; and Anderson Cooper quickly grabbed a sign that said, "No nudity".

ESPN Sky-Cam crashes to the field in the 2012 Insight Bowl

During the 2012 Insight Bowl, ESPN's sky-cam (the camera mounted above the field via a set of wires, that shoots footage that looks like video games) came crashing down. Fortunately, none of the players for Iowa or Oklahoma got injured when the camera fell off the wires onto the football field.
