New Haven Reporter Calls Herself Stupid
Channel 8 in New Haven, CT had a snafu on live TV when their field reporter fumbles her words and calls herself stupid. The Anchor man tries to cover and says that they must have run the wrong tape---But we wonder if it was really a live broadcast that went hay-wire.
Reporter Walks into a post
A reporter runs into a post while walking alongside an interviewee on the sidewalk... It's pretty funny, with the camera man in tow behind the pair, you see the man ignoring the reporter as much as he can while he briskly walks---With the reporter working the microphone and looking at the witness, he doesn't see the metal post in the sidewalk and slams into it.
Bowling Blooper -Fingers stuck in the ball
This professional bowler has strange thing happen when his fingers get stuck in his bowling ball and he accidentally steps onto the greased lane and falls over in embarrassment.
Weather Girl caught eating on set
Fox 4's local weather personality thought she was off-camera, when she was actually on live TV stuffing her face with a snack. Other anchors were busy laughing at her, but the camera stayed on her and she had no idea. Instead she just kept eating.
I think in the future she'll snack in the lunchroom.
Christine Ensinga Gets Splashed With Water
Recently when a New York state mom left her infant in the car during a hot day for 15 minutes in the Kmart parking lot, police were called to the situation. The local news reporter Christine Ensinga tried to go to the 26 year old mom's residence to interview her. However, the reporter was greeted at the door with a bucket of water tossed in her face and later on with a hose of water spraying on her. It looked like the child's grandmother was behind the water works; and the negligent mother didn't want be photographed by any body.
San Diego News Jet Pack Fail
San Diego's local fox field reporter was at the Marina during the start of the news broadcast standing next to a boat and a guy with a water powered jet pack on his back. When the Jet-Pack man tried to take off, he almost knocks the reporter into the water, but instead he flies head first into the ocean.
The producers cut back to the main news team who are laughing and trying to figure out what's going on and then cut back for a few seconds so we can see that the man can actually fly around in his water propulsion jet pack.
Funniest Field Crashers and Sports Streakers
Here's a funny highlight reel of people crashing sports field in a variety of ways during live competitions. Whether it's a bikini girl interrupting a soccer match or a "referee" with a tear away uniform to streak across a football field it's pretty humorous. Although, these mad-dashers have to look out for the security guards or players who tend to be prone to trip or tackle the people.
Car Crashes Behind Trisha Cruze on Live TV
During the evening news Trisha Cruise was busy doing a report and towards the end of the live television broadcast their was a car accident right behind her. She wasn't phased by the rear-end collision. Instead she wrapped up the segment and kicked it back to the anchor live in the studio.
Toronto Reporter Mark McCalister of Global News Can't Talk
Poor reporter Mark McCalister gets tongue tied when reporting on Libya---He has trouble reading his teleprompter and completely fumbles his lines. Mark may be talking but he certainly isn't making sense. Makes you wonder if he's having a brain aneurysm on the air.
UCONN's Alex Oriakhi Free Throw Attempt Stays on the Rim
During a recent NCAA Men's basketball game featuring UCONN huskies versus West Virginia, Alex Oriakhi (#34 for the University of Connecticut) is shooting a free-throw with the game tied at 22 to 22.
He has one heck of a soft touch on his shot. Because the ball bounces on the rim and stays on the back-plate. The announcers were surprised, and in my 35 years of watching basketball I have never seen this happen--I didn't even think it was possible.
It's not that the ball was wedged between the rim and the backboard---no the round ball was perfectly balanced on the back-plate. In situations like this, I believe the officials regard the play as a jump ball and look towards the possession arrows to see who gets in-bound the basketball.
NBC Detroit shows a "Sweet Dog" (rottweiler) that bites another dog on live TV
Detroit's Local affiliate NBC 4 was doing a story about an illegal kennel where 61 dogs were kept in very poor conditions. Carmen the anchor pitches the segment to the field reporter who shows off a "very sweet dog" a large fully grown rottweiler who was slobbery and apparently had several litters of puppies. The animals handler commented on what bad things happened to this sweet dog when all of sudden the big pit-bull like critter goes up on her hind legs and bites a little lap-dog that another handler was holding...
Oh the dangers of live TV.
Kim Clijsters Calls Out a Sports Caster
At the Australian Open, Kim Clijsters is speaking with Todd Woodbridge (An Australian Sports Reporter), for writing that Kim looked grumpy and that she may be pregnant, because her boobs look bigger.
I think that poor Mr. Woodbridge wasn't ready to get called out on live TV and over the public address system at the tennis stadium. The crowd really had a good laugh and applause in response to Kim throwing Todd under the bus after his goofy text/tweet.
Now we'll just have to see who's going to be the player to win this year's Open.
Toowoomba Flood in Brisbane Australia washes away a parking lot full of Cars
Recently all of the rain and flooding that has hit Australia caused some rivers to overflow their banks and wash away about twenty cars from the car park (Parking Lot for the Americans out there).
This amazing video was shot by an office worker from an upper level conference room at work. The East Creek near Chalk Lane just swelled over its banks reaching a critical flood stage. One guy got outside to fiddle with his range rover SUV's tires and just barely managed to drive his truck out of danger. However, over a dozen owners of small cars had their vehicles disappear in a gush of murky river water.
It's truly an amazing weather video that has been getting a lot play in newsrooms around the world.
Cars Slide and Crash Down an Icy Road
As the blizzard of 2011 hits the East Coast hard this week with over a foot of snow, I thought it would be interesting to look at this montage that CNN put together of cars and trucks sliding out of control crashing into each other outside of Spokane, Washington during 2010.
This winter will definitely be one to remember and hopefully, drivers take it easy and don't go out in the inclement weather unless they really need to. It's best if you have 2 wheel drive vehicle to stay home... Leave the roads to the snow plows and people with 4 wheel drive trucks and SUV's.
Atlanta Car Catches On Fire During Snow Storm
Atlanta's NBC affiliate was doing a live shot in town when a BMW driver spins out and crashes and then the car catches on fire. The driver lost traction on windy hill road and spun his tires so much that the car caught on fire. The TV crew talked the driver into getting out of the car and then they called 911 to get the fire department there.
Now the driver will have to call up his automobile insurance company and file a claim.
Reporter Lidia Camon knocks down camera man during a sled ride
Spanish Language reporter Lidia Camon is reporting on the snow and sledding conditions during a holiday winter storm, and then she gets onto a sled with a kid.
What Lidia didn't notice was that the microphone cord got caught between her leg and the toboggan causing her to yank down the camera man who falls as the sled goes down the snowy slope.

Minnesota Vikings Metrodome Roof Collapses Under Snow
This is amazing, even if it's not really a blooper. When Minnesota got hit by over a foot of heavy snow, the Viking's Metrodome roof collapsed under the weight. That's good because the NY Giants had trouble getting into town. The blizzard had them stuck in Kansas City for a while, and then it even pushed the game from Sunday to Monday night.
Now, it's a question of not only when they'll play the game---but where?
Update:
Fox Sports has video from inside the Metrodome when the roof collapsed and the snow came gushing in. Pam Oliver said that it would take to long to clear the snow off of a local college stadium in Minnesota; so the Vikings will be playing on Monday Night Football from Detroit's Ford Field (Home of the Lions). And according to the Detroit Free Press, the tickets will be given out for free on Monday Morning.
Cars Sliding on an icy hill
Newscasters are likely to be doing a lot of stories in the next few weeks highlighting the snowy and icy driving conditions on the nations roadways. Weather you're in Michigan, New York or Boston a slick road, a hill and a 2 wheel drive vehicle is almost guaranteed to cause accidents.
San Diego Morning Anchor sucks at Turkey Calling
Scott Paulson was on the San Diego morning news team's telecast when they bring out a Turkey caller that quacks when you shake it. Then he hands it to the lady morning host, who proceeds to inappropriately suck it and shake --as if it's something else.
News Team at WTMJ in Milwaukee wants a quickie
The evening news
The anchor man and lady banter a little bit and after they kick it over to the weatherman, then the older George Mallet says to Courtney Garish, "we could head over there for a quickie... er... I mean a quick drink".
Brian Gotter, the weatherman, then says... "boy it's getting hot in here, I guess we'll do anything for November sweeps week!"
